European Space Agency (ESA) hosted the 6th European Ground System Architecture Workshop (ESAW 2017) at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, 20-21 June 2017. ESAW provided an international forum for the exchange of ideas, results, new trends and practices in the ground segment for space missions.
We remember last year's Job Fair which was our first time there. Over the years, Amphinicy has grown significantly. It runs several projects of various sizes; some of these projects are in-house while others are done in collaboration with other companies, mainly European companies involved with the space industry. When we joined Amphinicy, it was to join a long-running collaboration with a company headquartered in Belgium. That included us regularly travelling to Belgium to work locally for several weeks at a time, and in this post we would like to talk a bit about that experience.
We have attended a great Satellite Communication Systems education held by professor Michel Bousquet from the Institut supérieur de l'aéronautique et de l'espace (eng. National Higher French Institute of Aeronautics and Space, or simply ISAE) that was held on SES premises in Betzdorf, Luxembourg. Although the education was highly technical, professor managed to squeeze everything in four busy days, without skipping chapters or taking any shortcuts.

This year again a lot of our developers and designers attended the annual WebCamp Zagreb conference. The conference was sold out the day before the opening, and unlike before the attendance was exceptional. Luckily, the organization was superb so enough coffee, tea, and even fruit, was just around the corner, while at the same time you could’ve been persuaded by the sponsors to make a (dramatic?) shift in your career at any moment. All in all, I’ve compiled a couple of opinions on some of the talks, which remained to be quite diverse in topics, but less focused on front-end web technologies; WebCamp might even rename itself some day!
