In the past month, Amphinicy's team delivered a second VoIP solution over satellite network that includes operator and customer portal for accessing VoIP services, support for special-rate calls (e.g. for employees), complete billing and system for monitoring and control of network devices.
Being an integral part of the modern-day in general, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) has evolved over the past decades. It simplifies communication processes and makes interactions more convenient since it gives the opportunity to access video, content and other forms of data in a fast-paced communication environment.
Voice over IP became a low-cost alternative to traditional voice service and is expected to grow over 10% in the next 5 years. Satellite broadband operators are well-positioned to foster VoIP growth with their increasing data throughput and their global coverage. While the service-related aspects of VoIP are pretty much the same for terrestrial and satellite networks, transport-related issues are different. Quality of service and transmission, service creation and customization are seamless integration with the public switched telephone network (PSTN) are just some of them. That is why expertise and experience in both software and the industry make difference in the project outcome.
