Space Cafe / Algebra Lab

Our colleague Mirta Medanić, a program manager at Amphinicy was invited to hold a presentation on the benefits of space technologies, data, and services in the financial sector at the 3rd Space Cafe. This virtual meetup was organized by Algebra LAB in the scope of the Horizon 2020 InnORBIT project.

Satellites are producing terabytes of Earth observation (EO) and remote sensing data daily. EO images and associated tools can support the analysis, monitoring, and forecasting of natural disasters and extreme weather events. This helps big insurance companies to perform better assessments of potential damage, and provide faster access to compensation for their subscribers.

At the Space Cafe, the benefits of space and downstream applications were discussed with the audience. Mirta shared her experience from working in the space industry and about Amphinicy Technologies' history and portfolio.

Amphinicy Technologies has a role in the development of smart EO infrastructure, especially with the product Blink, a high-performance software-based modem available in the cloud.
