Amphinicy at EDF Info Day in Zagreb
Amphinicy Technologies joined the EDF Info Day held on 14 April 2026 in Zagreb.
The event was co-organised by the Croatian Defence Industry Competitiveness Cluster and the Croatian Employers’ Association. It gathered key stakeholders from the Croatian defence sector, including Ivan Anušić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Defence of the Republic of Croatia, Goran Basarac, President of the Cluster and National Contact Point for the EDF, and Irena Weber, Director General of the Croatian Employers’ Association.
The discussions focused on current calls for proposals and strategic priorities under the European Defence Fund. B2B meetings facilitated direct engagement between Croatian defence industry stakeholders - driving networking, knowledge exchange, and partner identification for upcoming EDF consortia and project applications.
About the European Defence Fund (EDF)
The European Defence Fund (EDF) is a core EU instrument aimed at strengthening the competitiveness and innovation capacity of the European defence industry. Current calls span more than 30 thematic areas, including advanced defence technologies, unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space systems, sensors, energy solutions, and digital defence capabilities. With a budget of approximately €8 billion for the 2021 - 2027 period, the EDF represents a tangible opportunity for Croatian companies to integrate into international consortia, co-develop next-generation technologies, and scale their competitiveness at the European level.
Amphinicy in EDF-EPW
Amphinicy actively participated in the EDF Info Day based on our involvement in the European Protected Waveform (EDF-EPW) Phase 1 and Phase 2. Since 2021, Amphinicy has been part of the European consortiums developing the secure waveform for modern satellite communications. In the consortiums, Amphinicy is contributing with satellite software know-how and project delivery experience.
As part of the official programme, Hrvoje Bašić, the Head of Solutions Architecture at Amphinicy joined a panel discussion “EDF - An Opportunity for the Croatian Defence Industry?“. At the panel, Hrvoje highlighted practical use cases, lessons learned, and proven best practices from the EDF-EPW projects.
